Windies Ready To Take New Zealand Test Challenge

Windies tour of New Zealand

The first test of two test-match series between Windies and New Zealand will start from 1st December in Wellington. Both teams ready for the test cricket battle.

The record of Windies team is not so much morale boosting. Windies lastly won a test series in New Zealand back in 1994-95. Their last test win on New Zealand soil comes in February 1995.

“We´re in a pretty good place at this point in time. We´ve built up quite nicely this past year. We´re still not the finished product, but we´re heading in the right direction,” Holder said Thursday.

Although Windies performance in England was much better. They won a test in England this year and look promising in the entire test series.

Windies captain Jason Holder confident of doing well in the test series.

“We´re in a pretty good place at this point in time. We´ve built up quite nicely this past year. We´re still not the finished product, but we´re heading in the right direction,” Holder said Thursday.

With the pitch again its customary green color, Holder is still prepared to bowl first if he wins the toss.

“I could definitely see the reason why people come here and want to bowl first,” he said after surveying the wicket.

“I don´t think there would be too many batsmen in world cricket who would turn up and see that much grass on a pitch and be really into it.

“But we can be asked to bat tomorrow if I happen to lose the toss so we´ve got to have an open mind towards it.”
