Virat Kohli, Indian Skipper, one of the most talented batsmen of modern day cricket hits yet another one-day international century against Sri Lanka in 5th and last one day of 5 match series.
This is the 30th time Virat Kohli cross the 100 run mark. With this century he also equals Ricky Ponting record of 30 century in ODI. Now he holds the second most ODI hundreds in ODI along with Ricky Ponting.
Ricky Ponting is retired from international cricket and hence it’s a matter of time when Kholi surpasses Ponting. So the next man is the great Sachin Tendulkar who holds the world record of most ODI century(49).
Kholi now is just 28 years old and with the kind of fitness he has, he will easily playing for the next 10 year or more. Right now he is 19 short of Tendulkar benchmark of 49 ODI century.
“The great man (Sachin Tendulkar) is quite a bit away. That’s going to take a hell of an effort” Kohli said at the post-match press conference.
So it is interesting to see will Kohli break Sachin record, time will tell.
