Stakes Are High As Pakistan Will Take On Sri Lanka In First ODI

The ODI series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka is all set to begin as the first ODI will be played in Dubai on Friday. This is the first one day international for Pakistan after their champion trophy win against India in England.

Sri Lanka is definitely with some confidence after their win in test series. They clean sweep Pakistan by 2-0 and become the first team which beat Pakistan in their home ground UAE since they adopted it in 2010. 

On the other hand, there are many questions which Pakistan has to answer in this series. Their pride will be on stake after their loss to Sri Lanka in test series. They definitely want to win this series and hence to boost some confidence in their team. They also definitely want to prove that their champion trophy win was not at all by luck.

But there is some sign of worry for Pakistan before the start of the series, Mohammad Amir got injured in the second test and so he will not be available for ODI series. 

On the other hand, there will be some sign of worry for Sri Lankan team also. They lost 16 of their last 21 ODIs including a series defeat vs Zimbabwe and a clean sweep by India and that too on their home ground. They also want to forget past record and definitely want to win series against Pakistan.

After this five-match series, there will be three T20 matches also played between Pakistan and Sri Lanka from which the last T20I will be scheduled to play in Lahore Pakistan.
