Talking about this series, it was more than just a cricket contest for Pakistan – it was an event to show the world that Pakistan is capable of hosting international cricket for the longer period and it is time for the cricketing world to help Pakistan to revive cricket in their country.
The World XI team that came to Pakistan have players almost from every major team, five players from South Africa, three from Australia, two from New Zealand and one each from England, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. This surely gives a strong message for the world.
This tour of World XI became possible after the successful Pakistan Super League final in Lahore earlier this year, which allowed the Pakistan Cricket Board to showcase the possible security arrangements it could make.
Pakistan is always a cricketing loving nation, they never see their hero play in their own nation from last eight years. In this World XI tour, the fans expressed endless love for the visiting players, showing how eagerly they were waiting for the return of cricket in Pakistan. Even the four-tier security check and hefty prices of the tickets couldn’t change their passion for these matches
Now, it is up to the PCB how they revive international cricket in Pakistan to convince the international teams to visit Pakistan.
This can be done by first bringing more PSL games to Pakistan, with teams participating in full of their strength. More and more PSL matches in Pakistan will help PCB build confidence in terms of security.
