Pakistan is known for some unexpected stuff in world cricket in recent time. They do wonders when no one is expected from them and one of the classical example of this is their champion trophy victory. No one was expected from Pakistan that they won the champion trophy but they did and did in style to beat their arch-rival India in final.
Now in the ongoing test series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka, Pakistan again showing their cricketing nature. They lost the first match when they failed to chase 135 runs in the final inning.
In the second test, they conceded a lead of 220 runs in the first inning. And they bounced back and bowled Sri Lanka to 96 runs. They again lose five wickets for 5 runs in their second inning when chasing a target of 317 runs.
And when no one expected, Pakistan skipper Sarfraz Ahmed and Asad Shafiq stand against Sri Lanka win. The partnership between them is 146 runs and now Pakistan looks in good position to win the second test and level the series.
Now Pakistan needs another 119 runs to win this test with 5 wickets in hand and if this pair stands for another session on day 5 then Pakistan definitely going to win this test.
Earlier Wahab Riaz helps Pakistan to bundled out Sri Lanka on 96 with his 4 wickets. No Sri Lankan batsman stands in the second inning against the disciplined bowling of Pakistan.
In response to 317 runs to chase, Pakistan looks casual and both opening batsmen don’t look aggressive and hence lose their wickets in pressure. Babar Azam again fails in the testing conditions and score a zero before out to Parera.
The second test comes to exciting phase as this is the series decider. Pakistan needs another 119 runs to win this test and if Sri Lanka wants to win the second test then they have to break this partnership as soon as possible.
