The shining day of Pakistan in ODI cricket continued as Pakistan beat Sri Lanka in low scoring 2nd ODI and hence lead the series by 2-0.
The hero of this win for Pakistan is their young guns Babar Azam and Shadab Khan. Babar Azam has done something special yet again as he scored his successive ton in the series and put Pakistan to some respectable total along with Shadab Khan.
After winning the toss, Pakistan elected to bat first. Both Pakistani opener not lasted for long and fails to give Pakistan a solid start. Pakistan loses the plot rapidly as they lost their 6 wickets at 101 runs.
But Babar Azam, the run machine for Pakistan, yet again comes to rescue his team he along with Shadab Khan put 109 runs partnership and score his 7th ODI hundred. Shadab Khan also scores his maiden 50 in this inning. They together help their team to reach 219 in 50 overs.
Run chase never be easy against the disciplined bowling attack of Pakistan. Pakistan starts with steady line and length and never allow free runs which create pressure on Sri Lankan batsman.
Sri Lanka continuously losing wickets and it was only Tharanga who shows some resistance.
The young Shadab Khan, who is just 19 years old, won the man of the match award for his brilliant fifty and bowling figure of 3-47.
Pakistan now leads the five-match series by 2-0. The performance of Sri Lanka not up to the mark and it degrades with every match. If they never correct their game then another series wash awaits them in UAE.
