Kolkata Test: India Lose five Wickets At Lunch On day 5


After disastrous in the first inning against Sri Lanka, Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan and KL Rahul finally give India a good start in the second inning.

After conceding the 122 runs in the first inning, both Dhawan and Rahul gives India solid start in the second inning and a 166 runs opening stand put India in the commanding position.

Dhawan hit brilliant 94 before caught behind by keeper on the bowling of Shanka. KL Rahul also scored 79 runs and been bowled out by Lakmal. 

Earlier, Sri Lanka takes an important lead of 122 runs in the first inning. Mathew and Thrimanne score half-century but it was Rangana Herath who scored important knock of 67 runs which helps Sri Lanka to gain important first inning lead. Bhuveshwar Kumar and Mohammad Sami take 4 wickets each in the first inning.

At lunch on day 5, India lose their 5 wickets. Pujara went for 22 and Ajinkya Rahane once again failed to score good runs and out without opening his account. Jadeja promoted to the order but failed to score runs. Skipper Kohli batting on 41 while Ashwin still needs to open his account.

India takes a lead of 129 runs and they still have wickets in hands. The match is very much at balanced side now and it will be interesting to see how both the teams going forward with their tactics.
