Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag is always in news because of his sense of humour and some hard talks. He again comes in limelight, this time for Australian players.
Sehwag recently said in an interview to Indian news channel India Tv that Australian players were scared of sledging in the recently concluded ODI series due to the possibility of losing out on their contracts in the Indian Premier League(IPL).
“They (Australian players) are scared because of the next year’s mega IPL auctions,” Sehwag told to India Tv.
If they had sledged the Indian players in the ODI series, then the Indian franchise owners might think before bidding high for the Australian players… This can also be a reason for them not to get involved in sledging with their Indian counterparts,” Sehwag said further.
The cricketing rivalry between India and Australia is always on the higher side. In the last test series against India in India, players from both teams involved in some heating conversation.
In the recently concluded 5 matches one-day series, India won the series by 4-1. The three-match T20I series between India and Australia will start from 7th of October.
