From 230 for 7 to 374 for 7, Windies make a strong comeback in the 2nd test against Zimbabwe. Both batsmen score their fifty plus score and put Windies in commanding position in the second test.
Zimbabwe bowled really well in the first inning especially Sikander Raza who takes his first five wickets haul in test cricket. Windies starts well and both Brathwaite and Powell add 76 runs for the first wickets. But then with some good spin bowling from Sikander Raza, Windies lose wickets on the regular interval and at one time they were 230/7. Powell was the only batsman who plays with patience but unfortunately missed his hundred and out on 90. Captain Holder along with wicketkeeper Dowrich start building the innings for Windies and both batsmen ensure that Windies not losing any wicket further. Windies now take an important lead of 48 runs.
Earlier, Zimbabwe first inning ends on 326 runs. Hamilton Masakadza scores a brilliant hundred and out for 147. Peter Moor and Sikander Raza also batted well and score 52 and 80 runs respectively. Kemar Roach takes three wickets in the first inning while Gabriel and Bishoo both take 2 wickets each.
Zimbabwe needs early wicket to comeback in this match and does not allow Windies to take heavy first inning lead.
