The young 39-year-old left arm Sri Lankan spinner Rangana Herath lead Sri Lanka to win a thrilling test match against Pakistan at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi.
Pakistan needs just 136 runs to win the first test match but it was the magic of left-arm spinner who took 6 wickets in the 2nd inning of Pakistan which gives Sri Lanka a stunning win.
After winning the toss Sri Lankan skipper decided to bat first, Dinesh Chandimal score brilliant 155 not out in the first inning which leads Sri Lanka to score 419 on board. In response, Pakistan also replies brilliant with the help of good knock of Azar Ali and Haris Sohail and eventually Pakistan score 422 in their first inning.
Pakistan bowl brilliantly in 2nd innings and bowled out Sri Lanka on 138, Yasir Shah takes 5 wickets in 2nd innings. But it was the magic of Rangana Herath which restrict Pakistan to chase a small total of 135 and Pakistan lost the match by 21 runs.
Meanwhile, Herath becomes the first left-arm spinner to takes 400 test wickets. He also completes 100 test wickets against Pakistan in the 1st test.
The second test of the series will be playing on 6th of October. It will be first day-night test match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Pakistan never loses a series in Dubai and so they definitely want to win this test to level the two test match series.
