Guptill help NZ to win Nelson ODI

In a rain-hit ODI at Saxton Oval in Nelson, New Zealand win the second ODI by DLS method and beat New Zealand by 8 wickets. Pakistan won the toss and decided to bat first. Last match performer Fakhar Zaman ruled out from this match and Pakistan miss him in second ODI as Pakistan batting again collapsed in the Nelson ODI. Thanks to Hasan Ali and Shadab Khan which help Pakistan to achieve some respectable total.  

Azar Ali opens the attack with Imam-ul-Haq, both opener once again fails to give Pakistan a good start. Babar Azam too not looking convincing and just score 10 runs. Hafeez shows some discipline and score 60 runs but Pakistan loses wickets on a regular interval and they were 141 for 7 at one stage but Hasan Ali and Shadan help Pakistan to gain 246 runs in their 50 over.Ferguson takes 3 wickets.

While chasing 247 runs, New Zealand lost inform Munro on the third ball of the match and soon captain Williamson departs. But Guptill holds the other hand tightly and then rain arrives. After the certain delay, the match starts again And New Zealand needs 81 runs in 11 overs after DLS method. Guptil and Taylor score quick runs after that and thus New Zealand won the match by 8 wickets.

With this win, New Zealand takes the 2-0 lead in the five-match series and now it is more challenging for Pakistan to bounce back in the series as they need to win remaining three matches to win the series which is a big task for Pakistan in New Zealand.

The third match of the series will be played on Saturday 13th January at Dunedin.
