Pakistan looks a different team in one-day international games after they win the champion trophy against arch-rival India.
The all-around performance in the first ODI against Sri Lanka changed the mindset of Pakistan after their defeat in the test series. That was a complete performance by Pakistan team against Sri Lanka.
They cover all segment of their cricketing skills, almost every batsman score runs, bowlers have done a tremendous job in the first ODI and eventually, they beat Sri Lanka by 83 runs.
Now both teams are ready for the second encounter in Abu Dhabi, Pakistan will definitely want to repeat their last match performance and wants to take the 2-0 lead. On the other hand, Sri Lanka needs to do well in every department especially their batting.
On the match eve, Sri Lanka skipper Upul Tharanga felt that inconstant performance was the main reason for his team’s downfall.
“Since 2016 we have not played well. We have not been consistent. Lot of things changed. Players were changed and we had injuries. But still I don’t think we played to our potential. We were not consistent. We play one game well and then we fail to live up expectations. We beat India in England in June but since then it’s been all downhill. We have struggled for consistency,” he said.
Pakistan skipper Sarfraz Ahmed already said that he will go with the same eleven in the second ODI that means Ahmed Shehzad will retain his spot in the playing eleven.
