Australia Starts Their T20I Campaign Against India Without Smith

The first T20I of three-match series between India and Australia will be played at Ranchi on Saturday.

The ongoing tour of Australia to India is not so good, they lost ODI series by 4-1. Now there is more problem for Australia ahead of T20I series. Australian Captain Steve Smith ruled out of the T2o series against India due to the shoulder injury.

The T20 record of Australia against India is not so excited, they last won a T20I game 5 years back. Allrounder Marcus Stoinis will replace Smith in the T20 squad for the upcoming three-match series while David Warner will captain the side.

Ashish Nehra is expected to return to the playing XI along with Bumrah.

“He is a very experienced player and I have played some cricket with him during the World T20. It’s always great fun playing alongside him. He has got plenty of experience to share and is very helpful. As a youngster, I keep asking him questions and seek his advice. The team atmosphere also becomes very good with his presence, so it’s very nice to see him back,” Bumrah said on the eve of match.

The match will start at 7 pm Indian time. With Dhawan comeback to the squad so it is expected that Kohli will come to number 3 in the batting order.
